Pros

Stable job. Work from home couple days a week.

Cons

Management isn’t great. When I moved to corporate, current management needs training on how to be managers. I’ve seen people move to corporate and move back to the yard because of management. Many employees make mistakes and nothing happens. People will complain over and over about those employees to management, nothing is done. They have talks and retrain but they continue to make mistakes, which hurts and slows down the department. Manager is rude and talks down to her employees. She even talks down on her bosses. She’s hypocritical and not understanding to others. I’ve seen her get loud with employees, but her bosses see that and don’t correct the behavior. To be honest I don’t know how people have stuck around that long with her as a manager.. More work is given to good employees while those who don’t do a good job, get less work making others feel very underpaid. Favoritism is a big thing, manager wants all her employees to show their “loyalty” to her and tell her who’s talking about who in the department. She gossips badly about her employees to other departments and it gets around to her employees. It’s very unprofessional.. No over time, but she expects you to have all your work done at month end, I’ve seen/heard people work off the clock to get work done.

Pros

1) Current Manager and Dept Head are very supportive with work/life balance. Feel like I can do things outside of work. 2) There are some left in the company with great advice and lessons, have to hunt them down across the company though.

Cons

1) Almost no team oriented mindset. Getting help on porjects is like pulling teeth. You will also most likely work by yourself on a lot of stuff. 2) Experienced people all left. No higher knowledge to learn or gain experience from. 3) 2 weeks vacation seems pretty low bar. 4) Very much gut feeling reactions, not team or data driven decisions being made. 5) You will hear conflicting philosophies frequently. Whether its no bandaid solutions, taking the time to fix issues, or we need data driven decisions. 6) Unless you are higher on the food chain, you probably wont be listened to. Ties in with the lack of a collaborative environment. 7) Depending on your position, you may be constantly on call. 8) Lost desire to move up, seems like higher positions will just make you live here.
