Pros

A focus on Head Start families and teenagers in need of a high school diploma through an alternate path enables us to see wonderful successes. Generous 401(k) even if you do not participate. Committed co-workers. Overtime almost non-existent, so you have quality of life.

Cons

Not the highest wages. For those against the vaccine, Head Start positions are currently requiring since we deal with a large population not able to get the vaccine.

Pros

If they have money left from their grant, they will help pay for school (but you do have to commit 3 years to working there). They pay gas mileage to home visitors and when employees go to and from trainings.

Cons

Upper management does not care about their employees. No support from supervisors. No raises and low pay. Terrible health insurance. Have observed favoritism. Overly bombarded with work. Sometimes, expected to do work outside of your job description. Upper management will keep things, about the company (such as grants, etc...) from the employees. Very low morale. Very stressful place to work.
