Pros

Got some lab experience out of it

Cons

You are severely underpaid at this company for the amount of work required. Management constantly forces more responsibilities on the employees without increase in pay. Annual bonus is typically 2% to 3%, which is essentially nothing when you only make $18/hr. You are worked to the bone with no work/life balance. Management would frequently accept last minute rush work with same-day deadlines, which was often near impossible to meet. We regularly had to stay late and work weekends and management didn't care if we had other obligations. The lab director had an anger problem and would always yell at the employees. HR was useless and complaints went nowhere. The instrumentation was outdated, obsolete, and would always give erroneous data. If the data was not favorable to the important clients, the analysis would be repeated until the data was in their liking. This kind of "cherry-picking of outliers" was not illegal, but it was questionable. The owner would say things like "we're all a family", but we were treated badly and replaced easily. The employees were all bitter and it was a toxic work environment with coworkers harshly bullying each other.

Pros

Supportive leadership for personal growth and development. Awesome peer work group in all labs. Awesome place to learn!

Cons

As they are a small company with only one location, there is no opportunity to relocate.

Pros

Great co-workers, reasonable hours most times.

Cons

Pay is very low for what they’re asking of employees. They pay the bare minimum and then act as though you should be grateful for their “very generous” pay. Benefits are not great either. Employees are treated more like service industry employees and not professionals.
