Pros

* good compensation * work remotely * good & responsive nontechnical support staff * seems to have more passionate developers than most consulting companies * fairly unobtrusive day-to-day operation. teams are reasonably autonomous, even if as a group your hands are tied in certain areas. you don't feel micromanaged *** on the whole, it isn't the worst company to work for. it's just a typical workplace masquerading as something special.

Cons

* company doesn't just fall short of its stated values, it doesn't bother reaching for them * extremely poor project management. unwilling or unable to lead inexperienced clients, electing instead to give them the reigns as long as the checks keep coming in, at the expense of putting long term project success and client happiness in jeopardy * poor management in general: mismatching people for roles, misevaluation of new hires, and constant restructuring * job insecurity. my 4-6 person team had a half-dozen replacements in about a year * upper management seems to just reactively scramble about as opposed to lead with a steady hand * upper management bizarrely does a lot of hand-waiving when it comes to addressing employee concerns. it acts befuddled by individuals' concerns and characterizes them as unfounded or a misunderstanding... even if it caused someone to leave the company. this did not happen with any of my concerns, but to many during quarterly meetings * minor thing, but company meetings, voluntary training, things of this nature are considered off the clock. mark against work/life balance

Pros

I love that we are a remote first company. They trust you to do your job and I never feel micromanaged and still feel connected to my team which can be hard to do when everyone is remote. Callibrity still organizes yearly events that bring us all together and we are encouraged to get together with teammates quarterly through fun funds they give us to do so. We get a generous yearly learning stipend to help us grow in our fields and careers. Big plus. If there is a project or initiative that sounds interesting to you even if it's not in your usual duties, they encourage you to give it a try or experience something new. I really appreciate that attitude in a healthy way because you have the opportunities to learn new things and are encouraged to do so if you want! Executive leadership is approachable and as transparent as you can reasonably expect them to be. They actually listen to their employees and genuinely care about their culture and making positive changes (like extending their offered parental leave benefit) that make people want to stay. The culture here is awesome. Other consultancies I've worked at can be kind of "old-school" and succumb to some of that boy's club behavior and rhetoric, but I don't get that here. It is welcoming, supportive, and (dare I say) sometimes fun.

Cons

I do wish our insurance was cheaper (it's not that bad really and Callibrity has taken on more of the financial burden when costs increased), but totally understand why it is the way it is. I know as we continue to grow as a company, those costs will eventually decrease.

Pros

Competitive pay, good benefits and education program.

Cons

Truly bizarre organization - one that prioritizes keeping the same couple of executives afloat, regardless of performance. From hiring family members as executives to bizarre firings, it's clearly a group that doesn't have expanding outside of Cincinnati as a priority. Or doing the right thing once the choice is presented to them.
