Pros

CALSTART's mission matters and thanks to dedicated staff, the community of superb members, and powerful connections throughout North America, it is an impactful and purposeful organization. CALSTART has a unique ability to advance the market through its excellent staff and close collaboration with industry through the membership program. Employees are purpose driven and stay there because of their belief in the mission, the great people, and an earnest desire to build a sustainable, zero-emission transportation future. Some of the best people I've met in my career are from my rich days at CALSTART.

Cons

CALSTART is hiring but also has a large number of people leaving. The CEO has been at CALSTART for more than 30 years. The organization needs fresh new ideas at the top.

Pros

Remote Decent pay Nice management (in marketing)

Cons

You have to fill out timecards daily The entire company is unorganized and that will effect your work eventually. Everyone here likes to blame others for mistakes to look good for the CEO. So be prepared to keep ALL receipts of EVERY communication you have with EVERYONE! I promise you will need it at least 3-4 times to save your own as*s. They are a nonprofit and they act like it. They will be really nice to you and empathizing, but its all a stunt. They care about your work being done. So just do your work and keep a low profile. And don't open up too much to ANYONE! Your manager may act like Drew Barrymore during your 1 on 1 call but they're really more like the breakfast club. If you can get what I am putting down. They "promoted" me 3 months into me being hiring but they never paid me for my work. I just inherited the position with all the responsibilities with no benefits. So if you are ever promoted here, ask alot of questions and ensure your pay raise is set in stone before accepting the position. They basically got free work out of me for an entire year. I was so naive back then and they knew it.
