Pros

* You learn A LOT about photography. If this job is viewed as a paid internship, you will be happy. * Co-workers are very friendly. * Can be a very fulfilling/rewarding job. * Lots of creative freedom. * Great for improving social skills. * Very educational. * You can request a lot of time off during the year.

Cons

* Very disorganized. * Pay is atrocious. Tipping culture needs to stop. It's demoralizing for employees when they don't get tips, and affects their overall happiness when they aren't generating enough income to sustain themselves. During my employment, I had three co-workers not able to pay rent for multiple months, one was the manager (who worked full time). When your employees are struggling to make ends meet, that is NOT okay. * No benefits. * A lack of communication between higher ups and lower staff. When company meetings are held, it's very rushed. Staff isn't given the opportunity to present their concerns. * Finding out the schedule, sometimes as late as 9 pm, the day before. Sometimes you work, sometimes you are on call. The schedule is unpredictable, which makes planning ahead difficult unless you request time off. * Black out season from October 15th-Jan 15. Employees are expected to not take any time off.

Learned how to do photography in a studio. Got to work with children and families. Co workers were fun to be around.

Cons

The pay isn't that great. Management can sometimes be difficult. Work weekends and nights.
