Pros

As a fundraising Intern, I was responsible for raising money for the organization. Rather than a micro-management approach to exactly what I should do or how I should approach this internship, the leaders at CameroonONE allowed me to have a great level of freedom. Rather than raising money through online forums/social media, I decided to take on a rather hands-on approach, in which I organized and executed successful baked goods sales, t-shirt sales, and a music-performance based charity event at my college Boston College. Throughout these events, Todd Finklestone in particular provided me the perfect amount of mentorship and guidance, in order to successfully execute these events -- he even attended the music charity event a gave a short speech! While I was unable to raise as much money as I wanted to (although $2000 would go on to make a great impact), I was able to integrate the identity of CameroonONE into a college campus in which many students and even faculty members would know about its amazing goals and work in Cameroon. Overall, this internship gave me a great level of experience in event marketing, event planning, and leadership.

Cons

I loved the experience

Pros

-You have a lot of freedom in your internship. I was able to craft my fundraising efforts into ways that were fun for me. -The team at CameroonONE is highly responsive and quick to answer any questions I had during my internship. Everyone I spoke with was very kind. -Great mission. The team is very passionate about their goals, and I'm very happy I got to be a part of this organization for a summer.

Cons

-There isn't a lot of structure in the remote internships, which could be an issue for some people.

Pros

I was a Graphic Design Intern for 8 weeks with CameroonONE. The only reason it was shorter than most internships is because my school does 8 weeks sessions, rather than the usual 16 week semester. One of the best parts of this internship was that they allowed me to work remotely, since I was still in my undergrad. I worked with Todd, the director, and Hilary who is the media specialist. It was a pleasure to work with both of them. They were very clear in what they wanted and left nothing to ambiguity. I appreciated how both of them took the time to reply promptly to my emails, especially when we were in the middle of a project. Since I was in school still, they were very understandable when a week here or there was busy so I did not get as much accomplished. When the internship was done, Todd had no problem being a reference for me for future positions. Which as any college student knows, is very important when finding a job. Overall, it was a great internship that allowed me to learn a lot about working with an organization.

Cons

I don't really have any cons. Hopefully in the future, I will be able to work with them again.
