Capability Scotland

Is this your company?

shame this charity doesn't do more for staff than superficial training. - Anonymous employee Capability Scotland Employee Review

Pros

Training, initial support, service user support.

Cons

No progress, no increase in pay, constantly criticised for using initiative. Very defensive existing staff and aggressive management style encouraged and praised.

Pros

Flexi-time (even more than that), lots of trust, hybrid working (2 days in), fantastic leadership and executive team, excellent registered managers who know their services inside out, corporate team lovely, office space is bright, organised and pleasant, strong Chief Exec driving the organisation forward for sustainable and logical growth (team and service wise)

Cons

It's a charity so pennies occasionally tight, not much in the way of salary growth (but top notch work/life balance)

Pros

People you work with are fantastic, service users make the job so worthwhile. Fellow staff always willing to help out practically. (Not necessarily shift swaps) If you need certain hours some people are accommodated some not. Lots of opportunity to be out in the community with service users.

Cons

Shifts not given out evenly, some people do early mornings/late nights/weekends and some do little or none. Hard to get the right work life balance, couldn’t plan for a catch up coffee in a few weeks until I had rota, felt like I was available 24/7 as no dependents. Rota’s were often given only 2 weeks in advance.
