Pros
It is really inspiring working with clients from incredible arts institutions all over the country. Many available opportunities for professional development. For people looking for their first marketing job, CI gives the opportunities to shift careers and try something new. This is a great place to work if you're extroverted and have a theater background.
Cons
I have a lot more perspective after leaving CI. I was furloughed last spring along with many in the company, and after working in other environments, I learned how overworked and underpaid employees are at CI. Other agencies show more appreciation to their employees (not just the favorites) by offering bonuses or opportunities for advancement. Space was an issue, because CI was growing too quickly and hiring more new employees than it could fit in its old office space. If you weren't a golden child, you had low morale. At CI, not only was I punished when my boss thought I was looking for other employment (I wasn't), but I was furloughed immediately after. I felt stuck in a toxic work environment and I am glad to be working somewhere else.
