Pros

When I started at CareStar in 2011 I loved my job. As a Case Manager I got to work from a home office and have a flexible schedule.

Cons

The work overload, unrealistic expectations of management, and non-caring attitude have become too much. It is not worth jeprodizing my nursing license to continue working there.

Pros

CareStar is True to the Mission Statement of "Improving Communities by Improving Lives." Excellent run company in a sector that serves the most vulnerable among us, and they have a 38-year track record of being recognized for high standards and high-quality metrics of success. Twice winner of the BBB Torch Award for ethics and integrity in business, most recently in 2025. ESOP Company so it is owned by the employees, matching 401K, plus bonus paid work days (what you would earn for a normal day of work is paid as a bonus) 32 paid bonus days in 2025 + holiday pay + PTO. Hard work, and high expectations for excellence for the individuals who are cared for, that's the expectation and the standard. Excellent CEO who cares deeply about the individuals we serve and the people who serve them.

Cons

The work is hard work, the individuals we serve are tough to see what they are going through sometimes, but that's why we're there to help them and care for them. Expectations are clear, it's when they aren't met someone is held accountable that can rub people the wrong way. Extra effort and hours are sometimes expected when there is a need.
