Pros
As long as you follow the founders' orders to a T, you don't have anything to worry about.
Cons
No diversity due to all the layoffs. They promised that the first round of layoffs would be the only one for the year. They also promised that the people team was safe because we need them to recover from such a drastic change. There is zero trust in the business and in the new business strategy. The quickest culture shift I ever experienced in my career. We went from being a diverse and open vibe to being very robotic and numbers obsessed. Not a fun place to work when you reduce employees but expect individuals to do 2 or 3 jobs. I know for a fact people are unhappy but are afraid to speak up. Random restructurings without a clear explanation. It sends the message that founders are able to move from role to role while others who’ve worked hard and earned it are told to wait. The CTO moved into a COO role with no experience in operations. Founders lack work experience and have never worked for a large company. Management training is severely needed among leadership. Everything is white washed and communicated in a heartless way. My teammates and I still don’t understand why this second round is needed The irony is that we are selling our new product offering into HR leaders yet letting go of our entire people team. How are we to position ourselves as an employer learning benefit when we don’t internally practice it. The founders are careless and do not have the ability to think ahead.
