Pros
There was a lot of product to sell in a community that didn't really have a lot of competition. There was a good amount of traffic thanks to great advertising on both the radio and local newspapers. The staff was very supportive, and understood their role in the store, and in the management "ladder".
Cons
Post graduate level work, for high school - undergrad pay. Upper level management refused to hire additional staff to supplement the growing business, all while cutting hours, thus breaking the backs of employees and management alike. Discounts were okay. I felt that upper management was a little discriminatory, giving an advantage to females. The owner micromanaged all levels of day to day operations of the store, to the point that the store has had 3 store managers in the past year due to "unsatisfactory leadership skills" when in reality, many employees move on to a more "fair" and "equal" workplace.
