Leadership's lack of direction, there's a huge sense of faking it until you make it Total gaslighting when it comes to the success of the company--CEO will say the company is doing great, when clearly the numbers don't show this, the salespeople haven't made any sales, customers are complaining, over purchased inventory is sitting in warehouses, unpaid vendors are threatening salespeople with lawsuits, and before you know it, another layoff is announced The brass sees employees as collateral damage and expendable, and it takes a toll on your mental health. If you think the constant mind games and upheaval is what working at a startup should feel like--as one reviewer said, then more power to you. Personally, my stress levels, migraines and heart rate significantly decreased when I left the company
