Cons
Based on my experience, so certainly different for others: Great deal of bureaucracy. Old school French monarchical managers (I am French and being honest here). Lot of politics. Delivering success through work is not always enough, having same hobbies or points. of interest as those of your boss can help a great deal, e.g.: when having lunch, discussing about politics. Hated the latter, so was always excluded from the discussions. Colleagues didn't care or noticed as they were focused on pleasing the boss... the king. Lower level employees are encouraged to speak to their direct manager only. Higher exec managers are less accessible and like to have it stay this way. School interns are considered like not worthy to speak with on a social level, e.g. during lunch for instance. Compensation: low end of average market range. Doesn't take into consideration that life in Paris is much more expensive than anywhere else in France. May have changed since I left a few years ago by bringing in younger and more opened minded people.
