Pros

Environment was warm, friendly and positive. I felt really well supported and they gave me a lot of training opportunities. I was thee during a massive period of growth, and while it was a bit stressful, the team felt like a family and in it together. My team (technical support) was well run. I'm a big fan of Check. Always looked after me and my family when we went through a tough time with my kids. I wanted to move into something different, or i'd still be there.

Cons

My starting wage wasn't as good as it could have been and it took a while to increase. That said, just as i was leaving they put a different structure in place, so wages were automatically altered in line with a bunch of different elements, like KPIs, performance and training targets. A much better way to do it that stops you wondering when the next pay rise was coming. Only other thing was parking at head office. With the quick growth, we had to park in the nearby supermarket sometimes, but it was only 1 min walk away.

Pros

Check actually care about their people. My boss (Sales Director, Rob Wellings) always found the time to support me in what is sometimes a challenging role (field sales) and i think this ethos flows through the business. The sales commission structure is really good, similar to what i’ve seen in London - if you are good you can do really well and they don’t seem to begrudge paying it (unlike a few companies i’ve worked for). Staff get private healthcare (after a minimum term of around 6 months i think but i can’t remember exactly) and use of the work gym (should have done this more but was a member of one outside so it didn’t really bother with it). Overall great company to work for - If I still lived in the North West i would never have left.

Cons

Basic wage could have been higher, but the commission structure is really achievable it definitely worked out better for me. No office in London. Check isn't a massive company, which i really liked for the personal approach, but some might prefer a bigger 'corporate' feel.
