Pros
Chef has a top notch team that truly cares about the quality of our product. The passion is evident in conversations about how to improve it & what steps should be taken to move it forward/in the right direction. Everybody always seems willing to help each other however they can, even in tasks not related to their typical job duties. Our CEO's drive to grow & improve the company is evident in his transparent communications with the team; it's refreshing to see such a focused & mostly unidirectional drive. We're hiring frequently & work hard to hire great candidates; it's exciting to see new faces & a quickly growing team!
We move at a very fast pace, which adds a lot of excitement on a daily/weekly basis in development of new tech + improvement of existing. That creates plenty of opportunity to have meaningful contributions quickly after joining the team, and the number of opportunities only seems to be growing by the week. We strive to keep our existing customers happy and take pride in our products working well for them.
Cons
Our current facility isn't ideal for shipping out our products or receiving large shipments. The location is also not ideal; however, we're actively looking for a new HQ to move into & fix those issues.
The fast pace can be demanding, which is pretty typical of a startup at this stage. The hours can be long some days, but I'm still able to keep a good work/life balance despite that.
