Pros

Good hours - no nights or weekends. Insurance benefits are OK.

Cons

Upper management is incompetent. Does not address concerns of employees or clients. All management speaks to lower-level employees like they're "beneath them." Pay is a joke. Some employees have been there 25+ years and are making $13/hour. Work load is astronomical. Managers' expectations of employees is beyond humanly capable. Corporate gaslighting runs rampent. Management hates employees who ask questions. If you want to work here prepare to be a "yes-man." There is no opportunity for growth within the company, even though the managers tell you there is when you are hired. For being a mental health clinic, the managers do not care about their employees' mental health. In fact, they are willing to sacrifice their employees' mental health to make a buck. Bottom line: Chestnut Ridge is more concerned with making money than the well-being of their clients and employees.

First, I would like to thank you for letting us know of your concerns and frustrations, as routinely discussed, CRCSI has an open-door policy and are always happy to talk with employees regarding any concerns or ideas for improvement they may have. CRCSI has established several opportunities of advancement for growth within the Patient Services Coordinator (PSC) position, as indicated by your title in this review. We have established the PSC I, PSC II, PSC III, and we currently have a Patient Services Coordinator Lead Position posted with different levels of responsibilities and pay rates. CRCSI is extremely concerned and focused on the mental health needs of our clients. We are also very concerned and focused on the mental health of our employees, as well as the total overall wellness of our employees. However, we can appreciate where you may not understand the business side, and as an agency, we must also focus on making money. We do this by working with all levels of employees and managers to improve productivity and efficiency in all the programs we operate. When CRCSI makes money, we are then able to continue to provide the services that are so desperately needed in our community. In addition, when the agency makes money, we can look at giving an increase to employees’ wages, enhancing benefit options, and other things that make working at CRCSI so rewarding. We cannot compete with all other companies within the area however, we do attempt to compensate our employees equitably to similar organizations in the support of our agency mission to help individuals access and receive the treatment and support they need. We pay on average 97% of the premiums for employee medical premiums and pay for the full premium of some benefits to lessen the burden on employees. So, while it may seem like we only care about money, the money goes to paying staff, benefits, and ensuring that we can provide a safe place for you to work and a caring environment for clients to come and receive treatment. In addition, we want to make sure you are aware that CRCSI provides employees with a Free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) to help those employees who are struggling with their Mental Health needs or life stressors. Please see the Ridgeline or contact Human Resources if you would like a copy of the EAP flyer.

Pros

This company is truly an amazing place to work! From day one, I felt welcomed by a team that is not only friendly but genuinely supportive. The leadership here goes above and beyond—they care about employees as people, not just numbers. They listen, they act on feedback, and they make you feel valued every single day. The benefits are fantastic, and the work-life balance is real, not just a buzzword. There are plenty of opportunities to grow, learn, and advance your career. The culture is inclusive, respectful, and full of positive energy. You’re recognized for your hard work, and it’s clear that the company’s values aren’t just words—they’re lived out daily. If you’re looking for a workplace where you feel appreciated, supported, and excited to come to work, this is the place!

Cons

While this is an incredible place to work, there are a few things to keep in mind. The environment is fast-paced, which can be challenging if you prefer a slower rhythm. Leadership sets high expectations, so being proactive and adaptable is key. Remote work options are limited for some roles, and as the company continues to grow, processes are still evolving—so occasional changes happen. During peak periods, workloads can be heavier, but the team support makes it manageable.
