Pros

Serving the community and building relationships with families.

Cons

HIGH disconnect amongst staff, low wages despite educational experiences/bilingualism, VERY HIGH turnover rate, no opportunity for growth – internal promotions are rare (unless you are white or brown nose your way to the top). CEO and leadership have no self-awareness, offer zero transparency, and do not know how to distribute the equity they all preach about. These folks are all talk. You will no prosper, you will not grow, you will not be supported. BIPOC people especially stay away! They will try and exploit you and the families you serve for $$$ that you will never see.

Pros

This company has a fantastic reflective management culture that is absolutely focused on caring for the whole employee. My manager is so understanding, supportive and genuinely interested in my growth and development. If all companies used this model, the world would be a much better place.

Cons

Like a lot of nonprofits, everyone has a lot on their plate. Unfortunately that means some things aren’t given the full attention and nurturing they deserve (like some facets of programs or operations projects-not talking about kids or families here).
