Pros

Great industry to be in - exciting, surrounded by wonderful creativity and beautiful furniture and accessories. Decent salary and benefits. Standard office hours, vacation, and they will provide office workers with most tools needed to be successful in their positions if they choose to use them.

Cons

Extremely high-stress environment. No opportunity for advancement. Will move long-time employees across the country to open new locations and lay them off less than a year later in favor of hiring lower-salaried, inexperienced candidates. Favoritism is very high, and is far more valued than skill, ability, or work ethic. The Pareto Principle rules here, with 20% of the employees taking care of 80% of the work. Company politics are atrocious. Management very high-strung and holds no accountability.

Pros

High pay Good working hours People are generally nice The most beautiful office I've been in

Cons

CEO micromanages. Dreams too big without acknowledging that he doesn't have the means to do so at the time. Expect to be on call all the time via phone or email, even after working hours. Projects are constantly changing, and ultimately doesn't get completed. Either that, or the original outlook of the project changes completely because of the CEO. Management and HR could definitely be better. The point of an HR is to help the employees, but they're helping the company more instead. Not so great to realize that you're not going to get any assistance from the company. Work is easy to learn but gets stagnant after a while. It'll be hard to make your portfolio look good unless you do side projects. As for career opportunities, there are none.
