Pros

Some great people, and more experienced managers are willing to listen and share. Has a smaller firm feel in some respects. Some excellent investment people. Feel like i can find my own way - and I like that. Don't buy the bank talk....think of it as a really good investment place. No unrealistic goals or demands (a big difference from the big banks where my friends just laugh at their targets, knowing that no one achieves them). Compensation is ok, particularly benefits.

Cons

The tech and workstation environment is not even close to what my friends use at other small firms. Lots of chatter about iimproving things and it all amounts to a giant make work project that seems to make everything take longer. CRM is somehow a priority and no one can explain why. Some excellent and experienced senior management who spend time with new and junior staff. Yet, there are other leaders who operate like it is a high school environment (perhaps because half the place went to the same high schools or universities?). No retirement savings plan (odd for a financial firm?).
