Pros
You get to teach outside in school gardens to students and teachers who are truly enthusiastic about what you have to offer. There is ample opportunity to be creative in your teaching content and approaches. Although you will receive little formal teaching about gardening, this job provides the perfect opportunity to do research and try things out in school gardens to make you a proficient urban gardener.
Cons
You will not be able to afford rent anywhere near where you are teaching. You should be self-sufficient and have teaching experience as the organization is lacking in useful curriculum and has little capacity to provide regular support to staff. You will need a car to transport dirty materials, and you will not be provided with parking and will likely experience ticketing or towing at some point.
