Pros

Nice environment with very helpful colleagues. The work is helping people across Clare and we have flexible working hours and opportunity to have time off for any extra hours worked. We have access to a well contributed pension scheme.

Cons

Busy environment at times without any sense of control and you can feel conflicting demands. Salary levels are low within this sector.

Pros

Good advertisement for the saying 'lunatics running the Asylum' able to win contracts but even after 30 years , we contract people to help with issues like tender writing and running workshops

Cons

gender profile in some sections is like 5% male to 95% female, lots of cronyism and nepotism. Middle- management - most in those roles are nearly there by default and with out any real management experience but more so cherry picked and are clearly out of their depth and depend on others to get them through- Some are like the Fire starters and like to create drama and some like to Moan and nearly focus on trying to get of staff who are a threat to them . Unfortunately senior management who have failed to move on from the dark ages are more like mushrooms- kept in their dark offices and fed the BS from aforementioned middle management-- God knows what a real audit might find. So many good people have left in mysterious circumstances-this is telling for me!! HR section is unsupportive and more like a right hand for the CEO The Big question is always- Who's Next?

Pros

My time at CLDC was, unfortunately, the most negative experience in my two decades of working in consulting. The organisation lacks a healthy corporate culture and is plagued by unprofessional and, at times, toxic management practices. During my tenure, I witnessed clear signs of discrimination, favoritism, and nepotism, which significantly undermined team morale and productivity. There is no effective HR function to support employees or address discrimination concerns, and fair treatment is noticeably absent across all levels. The absence of accountability and professionalism makes it an unsuitable environment for individuals seeking respectful, equitable, and growth-oriented workplaces. I do not recommend this organisation to experienced professionals who value integrity, inclusion, and a constructive work culture.

Cons

Location of the office in Ennis
