Pros

The primary advantage of this position was the compensation. However, the bi-monthly pay schedule for managers posed a significant inconvenience, especially considering that technicians were paid on a weekly basis. The disparity between the two pay schedules seemed inconsistent and impractical.

Cons

There were numerous challenges, too many to list comprehensively. From the outset, there was no warm welcome or structured orientation. There were no initial meetings with management, no outlined objectives, and no clear direction. Instead, I had to rely on technicians for updates, as management was largely absent. The technicians themselves were minimally trained and, surprisingly, tasked with training me, which was ineffective. I observed instances of information gatekeeping by the technicians, seemingly to keep me out of the loop, with management appearing complicit in this behavior. The working environment was challenging, with the office consistently at an uncomfortable 48 degrees Fahrenheit. The building's condition was hazardous, cluttered, and poorly maintained, raising serious safety concerns. The overall atmosphere was unwelcoming, and my attempts to engage with the team were met with resistance and minimal interaction. It was an unusual and isolating experience. Moreover, the scope of work was vastly different from what was outlined in the job description I initially agreed to. The majority of my tasks were dictated per specific assignments, deviating from the role I was led to expect. This discrepancy was a significant issue for me. Despite these challenges, I endeavored to perform to the best of my ability.

Pros

Competitive pay and compensation packages. The company executed growth and scaling very well.

Cons

Work-life balance was very poor, and there was a constant revolving door of employees — it often felt uncertain who might be let go next. Leadership operated in a top-down, authoritarian style that made the environment unstable and stressful. Diversity and inclusion were lacking, and the overall culture did not feel mentally healthy or supportive. Staff contributions were frequently undervalued, and working their was especially high-pressure and draining.
