Pay for performance mindset - work hard, make an impact on company and you'll be rewarded. Leadership very accessible - open door policy. Still some opportunity for professional growth, depending on the department -you can take on additional roles and tasks that are now available given the layoffs. Great people doing terrific work under challenging situations.
Cons
Grew employee base too quickly too fast. Processes and systems still being created and taking the fun out of the environment. Environment changed from hard working, fun and lighthearted to stressful and uncertain. Need to find a way to balance the needs of the new, larger company and the fun of a company challenging the status quo. Must be ok with lack of work/life balance and an always changing environment. Uncertainty about direction of company, funding and company's future.
