Pros

CEO, CTO, COO, and Chief Architect all have lots of prior success. Great mentors and easy to work with.

Cons

I was in charge of managing the junior developers. Lots of complaining, and it was hard if not impossible to hit deadlines or ship clean code with that group. The work would fall back on the experienced guys to pickup the slack causing delays.

Pros

I was a senior software engineer at Clout.com for a little over a year. I left primarily for family reasons, and felt compelled to write this review after seeing a few mixed reviews on here. Most of the reviews are very positive, but its the couple of negative reviews (that all seem to be written by the same person and couldn't be farther from the truth) which bothered me to see especially after having such a great experience working with the company. Seems like someone left with a chip on the shoulder and is looking for a place to vent so I want to make sure to give a fair picture for anyone considering working at the company. Pros of working at Clout are: -Veteran management team -Cool people, no politics -Nice work environment -CEO is easy to work with and genuinely cares for the team -Big upside on the equity plan -Opportunity to make a big impact -Visionary and potentially game changing product I still keep in touch with many of the management team and think they're on the right track. I'd definitely go back and work there again.

Cons

When I was there I worked for several months in exchange for equity before starting to earn a salary. For me, I enjoyed it and look forward to the company's success. I was willing to take a bit of risk on a team and product I believe in, but its not for everyone. Once they hit the next level I'd imagine they'll stop offering as much equity and go to a more traditional comp plan. Its a lean startup. As with most startups, things take longer to roll out than expected. If you're not up for the challenge, joining a start up is probably not for you.
