Good product, bad acquisition - Senior Product Manager Codecademy Employee Review

Has a great brand and a large user base, but isn't really sure how to monetize it. People just don't really want to pay for online education. Skillsoft seems like a sinking ship. They declared chapter 11 bankruptcy shortly before acquiring Codecademy. I wish the old leadership of Codecademy had pursued an acquisition that would have set the company up for long term success instead of just trying to exit at the highest price they could get
