Pros

Colliers is an international company with a large brand name and provides employees the ability to grow internally. The company has good people and a good culture. The local leadership is great. They are active in a diverse range of asset classes which allows for a broad coverage of almost every aspect of commercial real estate. This can allow for internal referrals and the ability for colleagues to open doors and make introductions. The company also has good sales training and an online library of sales classes. Overall the company has a good reputation.

Cons

Offices are mixed between privately owned under the brand name, and those owned by corporate. The company's internal systems and processes could be better. This is more pronounced for sales agents who need to find business and create marketing materials. Agents need to create their own CRM system, find leads, create a marketing template and figure how to effectively market the property. The company hires good marketing talent to help do this, but it's up to the agent to play project manager. As a result, the company does well in the private capital space but is not well known for larger institutional business. In recent years, corporate management has taken steps to increase profits by cutting back on resources that promote growth and adding more to the agents out of pocket costs. Corporate management also added layers of complexity by moving everyone's office phone lines and conference call lines to a cell phone app which caused thousands of agents to be unable to effectively answer and receive calls due to technical issues, lag issues, dropped call issues etc.

Pros

-the people -mostly easy-going -not a hard job -good actually entry level job -people are almost always willing to teach you something you are not sure about

Cons

-Schedule rigidity -almost no say in where or when you work (even though the company preaches this as one of its values) -the pay (didn't get a raise for the first 2 years I worked there and they were small rasises. Then told I was not being promoted after waiting 3 years for the promotion I was promised) -the favoraitism by management -the work is either a 100% or nothing to do -in office days tend to be highly stressful
