Pros

Interesting projects, when project management and leadership issues don't get in the way.

Cons

The fact that the CEO of this company personally responds to each review on here with a paragraphs-long rebuttal of every criticism--often trying to guess who the reviewer is and calling them out individually--should tell you a lot about what it's like to work here.

I am sorry you have this perception of our operations and my responses. Glassdoor encourages employers to respond to all reviews. I follow their guidelines in my responses, including not identifying individuals. I use their guidelines as a check list. The large majority of reviews here are positive. We operate a transparent organization and would like prospective employees to have a balanced view of what it is like to work at Community Science. I may write a lot about Community Science because I am passionate about the work we do, the people who work here, and the type of organization we are becoming. We work very hard to be a better organization every day. I like sharing that.

Pros

-Working on projects that help further strengthen communities, and drive change in collaboration with community members, local organizations, and funders - Focus on a range of key content areas-including health equity, community development, youth development, and housing-all with a systems change and community engagement lens -Collaborative and supportive team environment -Many opportunities for growth and professional development, internally and funds to engage in external trainings -Great 401k and healthcare plan, along with an annual wellness reimbursement benefit (i.e., could be used to pay for or subsidize your gym membership)

Cons

Could be an adjustment for someone who has not worked for an organizaiton with a billable hours structure, must have an oganized way of planning and carrying out your work

Thank you for your feedback and support of our work. We are only as good as the people who we work with, our community. I feel very lucky that I can work with you and your colleagues. Needless to say it's been a crazy year, but we have been successful together and am looking forward to the great things we can accomplish in 2021. As I've written before, the professional services industry may not be for everyone, but you if you want to be helping to transform government, foundations, and nonprofit organizations cross country-this is a great spot to be in. So many exciting things going on. More advice and great ideas are so appreciated. Thank you again.

Pros

VERY talented and mission-driven colleagues who care deeply about the impact of their work. Employees are given opportunities to contribute meaningful work, collaborate across teams, and develop professionally.

Cons

Internal communication and role clarity could be stronger. As the organization has evolved, some processes and expectations have not always kept pace, occasionally creating confusion about priorities and decision-making. Also, if you are not familiar with billable hours environments, do your homework before stepping into this space.
