Pros
Control over your schedule! You’re only required to do one load per month. That means that you can work the way that you want to work, how you want to work, and when you want to work! If you want to work week on week off, you can do that! If you want to work two weeks on, two weeks off, you can do that! If you want to work three weeks on, one week off, or one week on and three weeks off, you can do that! As long as you do your required one load per month, you’re good! Another excellent benefit is that the company pays for your flights and you keep all of your frequent flyer miles! You gain status sicker than you’ll believe and soon, you’ll have enough frequent flyer miles to go anywhere in the world!
Cons
You are subject to seasons of slow business. This means that you are at risk of being sent home. That is the equivalent of being laid off without the benefit of being able to file an unemployment claim since you’re an independent contractor. Another con is the company significantly underestimates their role of customer service to their drivers. They also have a history and a way of taking away from the drivers. Specifically money. I’ll explain. They took away the reimbursement of luggage when you fly, as opposed to they did this for years! Long before I ever got there (13 years ago at time of this writing). An expense of around $80 twice a week when you fly means on average $160 per week, $320 every two weeks, and $640 per month. There are more examples, but this one was very easy to illustrate.
