Pros
Most people here genuinely care about the mission and work hard because they believe in it. Colleagues at all levels regularly go above and beyond, even when they probably shouldn’t have to. There’s a lot of talent in the organisation which makes it frustrating to see that effort not reflected in the final output. Pay is reasonable, the work–life balance is generally okay, and some staff benefits are genuinely good. These are honestly a big reason many people stay, even when the work itself feels demoralising.
Cons
From where I sit, it’s really unclear who actually makes decisions or who is responsible when things go wrong. Campaign projects seem to appear out of nowhere, while the same tired ones are recycled year after year with no visible learning or improvement. Delivery problems are then passed on to other teams. When deadlines slip or work doesn’t land well, accountability flows downwards, not upwards. People higher up move on to the next project, while those left doing the work are expected to plug the gaps and deal with the consequences, without any recognition. And this is where accountability ends and the cycle continues. There doesn’t seem to be any real prioritisation. We launch campaigns with flashy names, but no one ever explains what success looks like or why this work matters more than everything else competing for time and resources. The focus feels like it’s on how things look rather than whether they actually achieve anything. Having seen the impact report, it’s pretty obvious that our campaigns have no results or at least none that are reportable. All that’s ever shared are superficial metrics that don’t tell us whether anyone was persuaded, influenced, or engaged in a meaningful way. The work feels lazy, which is especially frustrating given how much money is apparently being spent. High profile efforts like the VR campaign and the oversized, theatrical billboards are held up internally as successes, yet it’s completely unclear what they actually achieved beyond momentary attention. From the outside, these stunts feel confusing at best and embarrassing at worst.
