Pros
The university is in a great small town; however, the town revolves around the university which might not be something everyone enjoys.
People are helpful and you can find a great community here, you just have to search for it.
Cons
Given the cost of living, pay was not great. Graduate assistantships are teaching heavy. If you are not interested in staying in academia, this may not be a great option. For both of these points, this may depend on the program you are in however. I will also mention, that given that the university is not very big, there is a ton of politics you need to navigate.
