Thank you for sharing your feedback and for the meaningful contributions you make as a valued contractor. We truly appreciate your expertise, flexibility, and commitment to supporting our learners and teams. We’re glad to hear that the flexibility and opportunities for professional learning have been meaningful, as those are important parts of the experience we aim to provide. We understand that variability in professional learning volume can be challenging, and we recognize the impact that can have. Work is aligned to customer demand and evolving priorities, which can sometimes result in fluctuations. We also recognize that differences in assignments or engagement types can impact compensation, and we understand how that can feel inconsistent. We aim to ensure pay is aligned to the scope and nature of the work, and we continue to evaluate our approach as we grow. We’re grateful to have you as part of this journey and appreciate the flexibility and professionalism you bring to your role.

Pros

Life/work balance; supportive team; strong work ethic among colleagues; everyone is driven to succeed and put forth their best work. It is an amazing place to work that I have 100% enjoyed.

Cons

Market conditions are really tough right now in EdTech due to the loss of ESSER funds and challenges coming from the federal govenement, which are impacting how many schools can buy our products. This has led to a couple rounds of layoffs, but that is inevitable in today's economic condition.

Pros

I was never overloaded with work, had coworkers who cared about the mission, and the benefits were decent. Lexia was a great place to work until it became part of Cambium.

Cons

The senior managers at Lexia are out of their depth. The company scaled quickly but didn't replace senior managers with people who know how to lead a large company. Past Lexia, at the Cambium level, it is even worse. The current CEO shows up occasionally in all-hands meetings and literally reads from a script, then spends a lot of time posting on LinkedIn about how she's a top CEO. The private equity firm that owns Cambium does what PV firms do - squeeze companies for money until they finally die. This is happening with Lexia now: multiple rounds of layoffs, entire products that are no longer supported, a company culture that expects everyone to always be happy and excited about everything and never push back. It was sad to watch it all fall apart. Relieved I'm no longer in the chaos.
