Pros
I've been with the company for almost 6 years and have had the benefit of wearing multiple hats in a few different roles during this time. It's given me the opportunity to really grow as a professional and provided me the valuable experience I need to be successful in the future. It's a place where your voice and ideas can really be heard, and when those ideas are put into place you can really take the lead and run with it. I'm not much for the "corporate" mentality and enjoy the smaller and more collaborative environment at Consuro. It gives me the flexibility I need to still have that work/life balance and a safe place to brainstorm new ventures with the team.
Cons
My con is more of a difficulty we've faced and something I want us to work. I was new to the IT space when I joined the team and quickly began to see how unique of an IT shop we were. Consuro doesn't just hire any IT person, even if they seem like the sharpest one we've interviewed. If they can't relate to a wide variety of customers (CEOs to Office Managers, Lawyers to IT Directors) and lack the personality factor, they will not be a good fit for our team. It's been a difficult road to build the company as we've experienced so much growth and change over the past few years as recruiting for that "unicorn" of an engineer has proven to be extremely difficult and time consuming. We as a team have tried to stay ahead of the game when it comes to recruiting by constantly interviewing, but it can still prove to be a challenge. I hope we continue to perfect this and allow ourselves to be prepared when the company brings on new accounts to staff up appropriately and quickly.
