Pros

...You and your coworkers bond quickly

Cons

...95% of your work will be filling out spreadsheets of potential clients, even though almost all of these clients were contacted by previous staff members who quit ...Very low pay, almost unliveable in Toronto ....Expected to work far more hours than contracted with no time in-lieu or additional wages to cover the extra hours ...You feel terrible interacting with clients and artists because you know the company is going to do something to destroy the relationship. Eg. fire them with no notice or not pay them or not meet the terms of their contract ...The staff turnover is so quick, don't expect to work there for longer than 4 months

Pros

1. Exciting events and gigs to work, incredible costumes. 2. You will receive the full experience of being a performer in large productions. 3. Often you will be contacted for additional work. 4. Opportunities for Traveling shows

Cons

****They take advantage of young artists who want to perform, by underpaying them and taking advantage of their inexperience with gig work.**** this creates and adds to the toxicity of the industry taking advantage of a exploiting performers. 1. They SEVERLY underpay you for the time you provide. 2. You will sign a contract for a lump sum of payment usually $300 for a one off show (rehearsals included in that sum) 3. Every single contract I worked for them (which was many at the time) they would required almost 10+ additional hours of rehearsals or attendance for the production. If you don't agree, you'll be cut from most of the performance or replaced. 4. Every gig i worked the choreographers were given very tight timelines which created a lot of stress and not a lot of practise time ,we often finished the performance day of. 5. If your contract is canceled for whatever reason, you wont get paid a cent. I was young and dumb and distracted by the pretty costumes and productions to see what was really going on.
