Pros

The only positives about this company are that the office is nice and the dress code is casual.

Cons

Entry level pay for all non-management positions No 401k match Little to no room to grow, as project management is essentially the only role Long, stressful work periods If you sign on for a bonus, don't ever expect to receive it due to loopholes Little opportunity for a work-life balance Paid holidays require some employees to work Deceitful hiring - your shifts and hours will change from what you were told in your interview Requires employees with college degrees to work third shift hours on rotating schedule

Critical Mix Response
10y
As much as reading these comments about Critical Mix from a former employee hurts, we support and embrace the transparency that Glassdoor, and other forms of social media, brings and welcome all types of feedback. We would like to take this opportunity to provide our perspective on the remarks above. Salaries - Our entry-level positions are great for people right out of school or those looking for a way to start a corporate career. We’re proud of the new jobs we are creating and the opportunities we provide for people with talent to move up in the company. Entry-level salaries are offered for those without professional or industry experience. Hours/Holidays – At Critical Mix, no one is required to work a later schedule without choosing to do so. Since we provide 24x7 service to our customers, we recognize that having nights, weekends, and holiday time off is important and necessary for our employees. High achievers, who seek opportunities to advance themselves faster, sometimes choose to go above and beyond what is required. 401K Match - We would love to be able to offer a 401K match and plan to offer this in the future. Critical Mix had fewer than 100 employees until 2015, so we are delighted to be able to offer 401K program. As the business continues to grow and generate profits, we are investing the profits back into areas like a new world-class health care program, new offices, updated technology, as well as benefits like gym memberships, social events, and more. Bonuses – We are proud to offer employees a bonus program that is both fair and very generous. The quarterly or monthly bonus is based upon known performance goals or calculable earnings based on contribution metrics. Bonuses are only eligible to employees who are currently employed by the company. Unfortunately, you resigned before the bonus was paid, and despite this, we ended up paying the bonus with no hesitation after it was brought to our attention. Work/Life Balance - Critical Mix is on a mission to be the best at what we do which requires hard work and commitment. We embrace a healthy balance between work and life. It is about working smart, being passionate about what you do, and having fun while you are doing it! We are always open to discuss what works best for each individual. Co-founders, Hugh and Keith, welcome discussions with any employee or potential new hire. The company is growing quickly (Inc. 5000 ranked us as the 43rd fastest growing company in 2014) and continuously investing that growth back in the business. We are happy to share the details of these investments with any employee or future hire and appreciate all feedback to make Critical Mix a better company.

Pros

The clients that you work with, they have more respect for the programmers than the so called sales upper management. Make sure to make professional contacts with the clients, that where the opportunity is.

Cons

-Miscommunication between Upper Management. Bunch of Sales people who absolutely have no idea about how operations work, end up managing you and tends to be sickening. Their only job is to make money! They dont care about how operations work! -Operations Managers and Programming directors basically are there since they have been sticking to this company for years. Even if you are better at programming then them, wont matter. There is no growth, archaic operations process which never wants to evolve. -No work life balance whatsoever. Its a sweat shop basically! Make sure to have good relations with the sales people, even if you suck at your job, you will still have a job. -No career opportunities in operations especially programming. Bug filled system that clearly needs better testing. -Sales people dont have any respect for operations personnel. Their only job is to make sure the client is happy.
