Pros

- Decent pay and benefits, noticeably above and beyond most entry-level options - Stellar fringe benefits: frequent free lunches, tickets to Nationals games, monthly cake days, etc. - Valiant attempt at informal atmosphere - Strong adherence to 8:30-5:30 work day--you really can arrive and leave then if you want to

Cons

- Virtually no opportunity for advancement (wide experience gaps between entry-level staff and those they support, typically Directors, Senior Directors, and SVPs with no middle management in between) - Stubborn, stagnant office culture obsessed with seniority - Consistent unwillingness to confront and correct office "bullies" - Non-transparent, arbitrary yearly merit bonus review process which visibly favors the upper-level staff who created it and routinely under-examines the contributions of entry-level staff - Very little workflow consistency between departments--there is comically little pressure on senior staff to adopt new practices

Pros

Best networking opportunity I've ever had. They made it a priority to connect me with other interns and professionals in the industry. Was given the responsibility of several large projects. My day-to-day was varied. Would highly recommend.

Cons

The communication department never felt like a team. Many of the people I worked with as an intern are no longer there, so I can't speak to its current status.

Pros

Pay and benefits were amazing, particularly at the higher levels. I also worked with very dedicated, professional, and smart people.

Cons

The workplace was kinda "stiff," although there were fun times. Worst of all, though was the overall toxicity -- lack of trust, cooperation, etc. There was a lot of political posturing that was valued above actual work. While there have been leadership changes since my time there, I've heard nothing positive about them.
