Pros
Extremely flexible, work from home, great benefits, great coworkers for the most part. Perhaps it isn’t true for all departments, but in my department I feel that I have good work/life balance and am able to take time off as needed.
Cons
Where to begin… Curbio started as a great company to work for, and has rapidly turned into a nightmare. I’ve never worked with such a talented group of people who are simply not allowed to do their jobs because leadership doesn’t trust them and continually puts roadblocks in their way. The CEO practices an abusive management style and has everyone afraid for their jobs constantly, even those who are exceptionally high performers. The concept of Curbio itself is a great one, but the company does not have the leadership team in place to enable it to succeed. They lack industry experience and it shows. Those who succeed in leadership are those who constantly agree with the CEO, even (and especially) when he’s wrong. Collaboration between departments basically doesn’t exist, which is incredibly counterproductive in a company this small. Leadership paints a positive picture of company outlook, but then lays off 25% of the company right before the holidays. Those of us that are left are terrified for our jobs and have zero confidence in leadership.
