Pros

I learnt how bad a job could be, now anywhere else would be an improvement.

Cons

I laughed out loud reading one of the review headings “Farzana Baduel is a dynamic person and an inspiration" - no doubt written by a staff member under pressure or my the woman herself. I have never witnessed bullying or hierarchy like at Curzon, it does not function as an agency but as an ego project. The best staff leave very quickly, those in charge have little experience of PR - this agency is an example of why the industry needs to be tightly regulated.

Thank you for your feedback. We have received numerous negative reviews for the first time on Glassdoor within the last 12 months, coinciding with a disgruntled member of staff who was dismissed for poor performance. We conduct exit interviews and welcome feedback on Glassdoor which enables us to improve the employee experience. Whilst we will not comment on opinions, we will highlight factual inaccuracies so viewers are given a fair perspective. Factual inaccuracies: 1. Curzon PR is a boutique agency with a team of 15 comprising of management, specialists, and consultants. 2. We have a zero tolerance to bullying. No formal complaints have been made to HR over the last 8 years. 3. At present, the industry turnover rate is 18 months and our average turnover is twice as long as the industry average. 4. Our CEO has valid experience in the PR industry and has won multiple awards, authored contributions to PR books, lectured at Universities and PR industry bodies and is a media commentator. The CEO is a CIPR Accredited PR Practitioner. Accredited PR Practitioner is a hallmark of commitment to professional excellence. Our CEO has worked on communication campaigns for governments, listed corporates, and leading cultural brands. The management team all have relevant experience in the industry as well as management experience.

Pros

Very interesting clients from global corporates to middle eastern royalty. Diverse range of clients including lots of government work. Get to travel a lot as agency is hyper global with clients around the world. Research and data led, always learning about new countries, sectors etc through client projects Hybrid of full time staffers and consultant global network with good flexibility and remote working options Pure meritocracy, once you are in, your job title and salary reviews are based on competence and skills rather than years of experience and fancy universities Management is good and supportive to team. CEO is demanding but a great teacher to learn from and develop. Positive can do attitude to client projects Big focus on training and skills development The core staffers are nice bunch and feel like family after working together for years.

Cons

Multiple phases of quality approval before work is sent out of agency, which can be frustrating when managing timelines. Seeing docs have 7 rounds of edits is not unusual! Short lead times to events etc which can create pressure to execute fast Not the best agency to join if you cannot take pressure, deadlines etc Lack of team bonding events, important as there are many consultants and staffers who do not work on the same projects. Need to be flexible as there are always projects that are given to you with tight deadlines and you just have to get on with it. People who are naturally a bit slow in their work do not do well here.
