Pros

Unboxing new things is kinda fun, and the pay is great if you're desperate

Cons

Micromanaging, awful guidance, being told to lie to customers, forced to work longer hours than you are paid for (even if you are a casual and you are getting paid by the hour). The store is dusty so be aware if you have skin conditions. Literally so much stress, my goodness. The first thing my manager said to me on my first day was "WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG???" I was taken aback like "sorry what do you mean? Nice to meet you by the way", and she was all like "why did your hiring process take so long??". She completely blamed it on me when it was actually an onboarding mix-up with HQ in Melbourne. Incredibly, incredibly, rude management staff. I am a fully qualified engineer now and to this day Daiso was the most stressful job I've ever had in my life. Talk about PTSD. It's not worth the money - work somewhere that won't berate you and make you cry over $2.80 worth of mangoes.

Pros

Good hours (While I was there) Flexible schedule Nice pay

Cons

A lot of decisions were made not by management, but by higher ups at the company. Our stock was also decided on by some sort of computer algorithm, so we’d often have stuff in the back we couldn’t put on shelves without stuffing them. Overall, I think I got out just in time because former coworkers told me the hours got so bad that people were forced to go on food stamps.
