Overall bank used to be a great place to work for. It's very flat organization with lots of opportunities to grow internally, especially at junior level.
Cons
Capital markets/corporate finance team is very different. It's managed separately by a very incompetent MD. Other senior bankers on the team were hired after they were let go from boutique banks for not being able to generate enough revenue. No one on the team is capable of bringing in deals. Unlike other front office IB groups, the team is actually a cost center to the bank. It spends most of its time on internal presentations to convince senior management to keep it in place. AVPs spend bulk of its time on random FP&A projects. Experience was miserable and there's nowhere to go after awhile given lack of deal experience.
