1.5x pay over 8 hours every week day 2x pay over 10 hours every day 1.5x Saturday 2x Sunday Weekly pay Union shop. USW Temporary hire until 90 days seniority Vacation is payed in lump sum. Healthcare/Life insurance is a $160/month Hra with 1 dependant

Cons

Employees are not adequately trained. No payed time off due to vacation lump sum. Mandatory overtime up to 12 Saturdays a year. Mandatory overtime during customer shutdowns on Sundays.

FMLA was standard and they were accommodating to pumping mothers. A standard 4 day 10hr shift that was doable Unionized Held safety meetings

Pros

Hard to be fired, good benefits, double time Sundays.

Cons

No room to grow. Pay scale is a tier system based on a union contract that we negotiate every 3-5 years and the raises are never more than a dollar or two. They offer apprenticeships that you only get if you are related to someone and have some kind of friend up front. Qualifications mean nothing you learn more you do more and get paid less than then the tier 1 employees which makes the newer highers also not want to work so you will be in limbo working harder for nothing.
