Pros

I am new to Merrill. This is not the Merrill from 2 years ago. From an IT perspective this is as exciting an environment to work in as one can find outside a Unicorn in Silcon Valley. There are challenges and aging technology and old-world IT thinking still in effect, but the transition to cloud providers, and the various AAS solutions is intensely fun to witness and take part in. I do not know how this impacts other employees, but as an IT/tech person, this may be the most fun position I've ever had. Again, I still have the new employee smell on me, but this is exactly the job most of us in IT want to be doing in my short time here and our path is to improve and break through remaining barriers the old-way blocks. This is the transformation phase from Waterfall to Agile but it's really fun.

Cons

The building does not have a work out facility or even shower. I'd ride the bike in if I could shower, but, it's stinky or drive so I drive, but I will eventually go with stinky in hopes leadership renovates in a workout room :). There is also no cafeteria. It promotes bringing your food from home if you're an at your desker, or going out. This may be a benefit to some, but I prefer to have a cafeteria.

Pros

-Coworkers are great. -Training is good. -Customers are usually ok to work with.

Cons

Summary: As a PSS, you'll be expected to support several different products, many of which you will not touch often. It's difficult to be an expert covering so many products and features. They change and update features often, which is both good and bad for customers, but also makes it much more difficult for PSS. You handle really sensitive information (M&A), but are expected to assist multiple customers at once - this is a huge risk. Additional cons: -They implemented a AI agent and then fired several great employees, then increased the rest of the staffs expected workload. -They change ways of working often. -The knowledge base is often out of date. -There's almost always a backlog, but the clients work can be "urgent" - making some clients upset on wait time.
