Pros

Working at David Yurman was a great experience overall. The pay structure and commission potential are very strong, especially for those who are motivated and good at building client relationships. The jewelry itself is good quality, which makes it easier to sell with confidence, and there is opportunity to make great money, top performing ambassadors are easily earning $110k+ annually.

Cons

While there is strong earning potential at David Yurman, the work environment can be challenging depending on the store and management. At the location I worked at, there was a high level of micromanagement and constant pressure to meet individual monthly sales quotas, even when the store was already meeting or exceeding its overall goals. This created unnecessary stress and took away from what could have been a more collaborative team environment. Because individual performance is heavily emphasized, it can also lead to a more competitive or “shark-like” atmosphere, where sales interactions feel tense as everyone is focused on hitting their numbers. Management styles were consistent, but expectations were extremely high, which can negatively impact morale and work life balance especially during peak seasons. There is also limited flexibility and, in some cases, unclear paths for advancement. While the brand and compensation structure are strong, the day to day experience can feel intense and overly performance driven, making it a difficult long term fit for some employees.
