Pros
There are so many positives to working at DCC/QANTM.
Genuine opportunities for career growth and promotions, I started as the IT Service Desk Manager and had the opportunity to step into the role of IT Operations Manager.
The work is exciting, engaging, and ever-changing. Since the day I walked through the door, it has been nonstop new and exciting projects and technology to work with.
The culture is supportive, with strong teamwork and genuine friendships.
Employee benefits are excellent flexible/hybrid work, birthday leave, volunteering leave.
We also enjoy Friday get-togethers, a ping pong competition, and team lunches. Long staff tenure is common, with many employees celebrated for 5, 10, 15, or more years of service. People are genuinely supportive.
I am never the smartest person in the room, the IT team and people across the business bring a wealth of knowledge and experience. I am constantly learning and improving thanks to those around me.
Even though my role isn’t client-facing, the work I do to support DCC ultimately helps individuals and companies develop new products and build their brands — and there’s a good chance I may one day be using some of those very products myself.
Cons
Work can definitely be busy at times, so good time management is important. With so many opportunities and projects happening across the business, it can be easy to take on too much at once. That said, this is where the team culture is really important, we’re always there to support each other, share the workload, and make sure no one feels like they’re carrying things on their own. The pace keeps things exciting, and the collaboration makes even the busiest times manageable.
