Pros

I work on structural design and analysis for high-profile building projects — the kind people will point to years from now. Experienced engineers on the team share knowledge, which is especially helpful for those early in their careers. It's also an opportunity to build a strong portfolio across complex structural work. I speak from experience when I say the training and mentorship here are excellent.

Cons

The job comes with a lot of responsibility and high expectations.

Pros

There's nothing to enjoy about working

Cons

If you're thinking about applying for a position at DeSimone, you should probably reconsider. The company is a dysfunctional mess, and it's run by incompetent clowns who only care about themselves. They make a lot of terrible decisions and keep making them because of their lack of accountability. Employees are constantly exhausted because of their unreasonable demands; our work-life balance is terrible because of their high expectations. Support is practically nonexistent; whenever we encounter any problems, leadership doesn't take action and leaves it to us to figure things out all by ourselves. Training is also lackluster; management only bothers to do the bare minimum, and they can't even be bothered to answer any of your questions. Besides the terrible leadership and lack of support, employees are also unfairly compensated. The salary we're paid doesn't match our workloads at all, and none of our hard work is ever acknowledged, much less rewarded. We don't receive any benefits either, and we're tossed aside without a second thought if it means the company can generate a bit more profit.
