Pros
DealMachine is one of the most transparent organizations I've ever worked for. As the organization is still small, we still have the ability to have a complete view into the company's finances which we do typically once a month. It's something that helps provide some peace of mind while working at a start-up that's undergone a massive transition and growth. We're also open about providing feedback to one another, including the CEO.
I love the amount of freedom that I've been given not only in shaping my own role and processes. I also have the freedom to work from home and have never felt micromanaged in any capacity. I am trusted to get my work done.The goals that have been set feel achievable and there are fair benchmarks along the way as well as generous incentives.
Since we are a mostly remote workplace, we do get together once a month or so for a team outing. We also do virtual get-togethers with our CSR team, most of whom are overseas. I love that we keep them included on the fun!
Cons
Most of these aren't cons and are more things to be mindful of:
- Unlimited PTO makes you less likely to use it
- We make a lot of changes and we make them quick, it can be tough to keep up at times
- There's not much of a physical office (This is not a con for me but may be to some)
