Pros

If you are looking for opportunities to get into software related projects, it's actually an OK company to work at.

Cons

The company culture is far from ideal! It's an office-based job and regardless of COVID-19, you will have asked to go into the office. Forget about saying "good morning" in the mornings because almost no one will reply. Going into the office feels like you are being watched constantly, and only certain employees are friendly enough to have a conversation with. The learning process is pretty much reading their help content, and of you go to reply to customers - Does not feel like you have the support of the team or management at all. There is no compassion or decency in how they shorten contracts for the company's benefit, almost reaching the point of bullying and/or isolating employees.

The review mentions "shorten contracts for the company's benefit". This is not true - we have never shortened an employment contract; and this would clearly not be a legal thing to do. What we believe the person writing this review is talking about, is that they were put on "gardening leave" during their exit from the business. This means they were paid during their notice period but were not expected to report to work. Our style of learning is heavily text/documentation based and this proved to be a problem in this situation but there is a range of support for new employees to get up to speed.

Pros

The team is collaborative and supportive of each other. I feel I have the tools I need to succeed at this job, in addition to a great training and onboarding experience. The hybrid work model makes it flexible.

Cons

It can be difficult at times to get timely assistance as our team is split up between Austin, TX and London.

Pros

I worked at Deskpro for a little over a year as a sales executive within the commercial team. I came to the team with no prior experience in sales nor SAAS solutions, however the team was supportive during the onboarding process. Specially, Hannah Scott was a great resource during this time, as she went above and beyond to ensure I felt supported and prepared for gradually taking on more responsibility. Soon after joining Deskpro, London faced another wave of lockdowns and we were sent home from the office. Hannah was incredible with maintaining communication while remote, and continuing to invest in my growth while we were at a distance. Another member of the team Paul Davies, was a very knowledgeable and useful resource when it came to navigating remote work, VISA responsibilities, and HR processes. I’m much appreciative of his guidance while at Deskpro. I also learned a great deal from the development team while working alongside them in consultative type sales and felt they were an approachable group when it came time to pick their brain!

Cons

The team at Deskpro is a very hardworking group and their work ethic went a great distance. However, I would say occasionally it felt quite hectic when many team members would be away (was not often). When this happened, it was tough to keep everything organized and prioritized. I think it’s likely this isn’t an issue any longer, as I’ve seen the company has grown since I left!
