Pros
I am really glad I made the last minute, unplanned decision to accept this internship offer. I think the way they treat their interns say alot about the company. Interns are given sufficient freedom in expressing their thoughts and opinions with regards to the business operations thus making us feel included and relevant Interns get to see how our work here actually contributes to the bigger picture. We have weekly catch up sessions with the supervisors and my supervisor always took it as an opportunity to talk me through the company's directions, my role and contribution, my future career prospects and my interest areas. She would ensure that I enjoy doing what I'm assigned and always made me feel like I was an important part of the organisation. The catch up sessions also served as a point for me to escalate my concerns, questions and requirements in terms of my job scope. All the 3 seniors I worked closely with were ever ready to answer my questions and would patiently explain my doubts and task requirements. They also go out of their way to make sure I learn and not just follow instructions. Their friendliness and the fun we have at work always made me look forward to attending work. In general, the best thing about working in Digi-X is that you get treated as an employee and not just a temporary intern. This gives you a sense of belonging and makes you feel valuable. In addition, they have an amazing culture of fellowship among employees via monthly "relaxation activities" that creates a sense of belonging and togetherness (at least that what I felt as an intern).
Cons
The interns could be given more opportunities to interact with the CDO perhaps by having a monthly catch up session or something of that sort. Despite having an open work space and the opportunity to meet the CDO almost everyday, we don't have any tangible interactions with him and it would be great to have that opportunity to enhance our learning experience.
