Pros

Award-winning video production company with big name clients. Since Whit Whales took over as President, the company has been running smoothly. Him and the other senior producers have a hold on their clients and run the company well. The production process, from producing to filming and editing, is clean and organized. Company meetings take place weekly to assure everyone is on the same page and can collaborate. Open office doors offer a welcoming and collaborative work environment. Film equipment is top of the line and is well maintained and organized. Chris manages most of the equipment and is a great person to work alongside. I did get a nice Christmas bonus! It was great to feel appreciated for my work.

Cons

We traveled a lot throughout New England for shoots, personally I liked that but not everyone does. Big workloads and tight deadlines can be tough at times.

Pros

The opportunities you receive from working at Diginovations are invaluable at any stage in your career. The team behind Diginovations is an incredibly talented, passionate, hard working staff of individuals. The Digi team is closely knit. You will quickly find that you’re working alongside friends, not coworkers. This means, your opinions are heard, your ideas are explored with excitement and interest, and your health, family, and wellbeing are cared for. In my time at Digi, management and human resources spent lots of time finding stronger, more competitive benefit programs for their employees that resulted in better retirement funds, HSA, and travel reimbursement. The leadership is not that of your typical “Boss” mentality. It’s said a “boss” gives orders, but a leader leads. From the moment I began at Diginovations, the management showed true leadership, leading by example, they are in the thick of the long shoot days, single day edits, and the consistent travel. Another benefit to Digi’s atmosphere is the constant welcome toward expanding your horizons, trying new styles, or altogether building new skillsets. When I began, I started within a few aspects of production, but the consistent freedom to experiment, as well as purchased resources to explore outside of my assignments, allowed me to improve my craft in a range of still photo and video applications. Some instances include, flash kits, lighting scenarios, drone operation and licensing, multicam setup and operations, motion control tools and equipment, sound, software tutorials, and more. On top of the work and office atmosphere, there is a fascinating component to the diversity of work that runs through Digi’s veins. Equipped with knowledge in every form of media content, Digi produces educational, academic, social, corporate, live show, product, mini-doc, non-profit, and so much more. This variety disparages any monotony within the schedule. Diginovations is incredibly well versed in its trade with a focus on capturing depth, emotion, and story in every project. I can’t imagine you would find a more well rounded crew of people with this level of passion in creating video and photo work in Massachusetts. Diginovations cultivates a passion that encompasses creativity, people, ethics, growth, and integrity.

Cons

I don't believe there are cons caused specifically by Digi OUTSIDE of the realm of work that they do. This line of work whether it is with a company, freelance, or contract based, requires some moments of sacrificing time or comfort, but again, Digi makes it a point to provide compensation to their employees through travel/milage reimbursment, overtime hours, as well as in-office appreciation lunches, and more.

Pros

The company creates an amazingly wide range of video types so it’s never boring, and there’s always an opportunity to challenge yourself and grow your skills. Mostly clients are great, love the work we do for them, and understand what it takes to create the quality they’re looking for. It’s exciting and incredibly gratifying to be involved in creating visual stories for companies, academic institutions and nonprofits that are literally changing the world. The team at Digi is very special, and reflects management’s determination to not settle for mediocrity. There is no dead wood here, which I appreciate because it means I don’t have to help carry someone who is coasting, or try to fix someone's poor work. We all work hard, we all do good work, and we all like and respect each other.

Cons

As anyone who’s worked in video and media production knows, the market has changed dramatically over the past several years. Clients want more, and they want it faster. The luxury of patting oneself on the back for being Emmy and Telly award-winners while continuing to make the same video over and over (taking months to do it) is gone. It can be hard to accept that working here means you don’t ever reach the finish line with skills and creativity. You have to keep growing and keep getting better. There’s no coasting. For some people, that’s not a good fit.
