Pros

The employee discount and access to new product launches are definite perks of working at Diptyque. Additionally, the challenging environment can foster a sense of camaraderie among colleagues, allowing you to build strong connections with those who share similar experiences.

Cons

Diptyque presents itself as a luxury brand, but behind the scenes, it operates with the chaos of a disorganized startup. There is a significant disconnect between the corporate office and the retail stores. Many policies are contradictory and seem to be made by those with little understanding of the retail environment. Getting support from corporate is an exercise in frustration, as issues are often passed around without resolution. The technology is outdated, causing frequent disruptions that delay store openings and closings. New product launches, while exciting for customers, are poorly managed internally. Employees are rarely given the chance to experience new products before they’re expected to sell them, leaving us to rely on guesswork and improvisation. Diversity in higher positions is lacking, and people of color who do advance are often overworked compared to their counterparts. The compensation is insufficient for those in metropolitan areas, especially given the demanding workload. Despite frequent store contests and small incentives, the stress and lack of proper support make it difficult to feel valued or motivated. In summary, Diptyque's luxurious image is in stark contrast to the reality of working there. If you're looking for a supportive and well-organized work environment, this may not be the right fit.
